Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – MONO MAKERS PROGRAM

1. Is there any financial support for the collaboration if we are selected as the Grand Prize winners?
Yes. The Dutch designer will receive a design fee of €2,000. While there is no financial reward for the Japanese participant, they will be invited to join a special study tour in the Netherlands.
2. Can we receive any support during the initial stage of finding a project partner to apply for MMP?
Unfortunately, we do not provide direct support for communication at this stage. Applicants are responsible for contacting and coordinating with each other, using online translation tools or other methods as needed.
3. What is the difference between the Grand Prize and the Jury’s Special Mention?
The Jury’s Special Mention does not include hands-on design support or a design fee for the Dutch member. However, the Japanese participant will still be invited to the study tour in the Netherlands. In addition, the selected pair will have the opportunity to present their collaboration at MONO JAPAN and exhibit their results during the domestic presentation event in Japan in March.
4. Are material or shipping costs (e.g., sending materials from Japan to the Netherlands) covered during the collaboration period?
Unfortunately, such costs are not covered. All material and shipping expenses must be borne by the participants themselves.
5. If the Dutch designer wishes to travel to Japan to further develop the collaboration, is there support for travel expenses?
We do not provide travel support for Dutch participants. However, Japanese members of the selected teams will visit the Netherlands during the study tour, offering a valuable opportunity to meet and collaborate in person. Additionally, there are grants available in the Netherlands that support travel for creatives—participants are encouraged to research and apply independently.
